Transit Guide

Istanbul Airport, about forty kilometres northwest, is reached in forty five minutes to over an hour by car depending on traffic. The hotel arranges transfers for an extra charge. Havaist buses and metro connections offer cheaper alternatives but involve changes and luggage handling.

Sabiha Gökçen on the Asian side is roughly forty five kilometres away. The Marmaray rail line, with stations at Cankurtaran and Kumkapı a short walk from the hotel, crosses under the Bosphorus and connects with lines toward the Asian airport side, often faster than the road.

The T1 tram from Sultanahmet, about five hundred metres uphill, runs through the historic peninsula to Eminönü and across the Galata Bridge toward Karaköy and Kabataş. With an Istanbulkart, the same card works for tram, metro, Marmaray and ferries.

Ferries from Eminönü, about twenty minutes on foot, cross to Kadıköy and Üsküdar or sail up the Bosphorus. The Princes' Islands ferries leave from Kabataş and Eminönü for a day on car free islands.

For taxis, ride hailing apps reduce disputes. Walking remains the best way to explore Sultanahmet, and the Marmaray line from Kumkapı is the fastest link to the Asian side and to Sirkeci.
